The Abbott was introduced in late 1950 - along with the Tickford - as the second generation of Healey cars. While the steering was heavy, they were otherwise pleasant enough to drive and sportier than their appearance might lead you to believe. However, the handling was exceptional for the era, and they would cruise at 80 mph all day long. The cars they built in these post-war years - and this is before the Austin connection that resulted in the Austin-Healey going into production in 1953 - were, by today’s standards, heavy, lumbering projectiles whose sheer kinetic energy at speed outclassed the brakes and the heart of most drivers. How much market could there have been for such cars at that time, especially considering the well-established competition in the market segment? However, while Healey’s company didn’t exactly flourish, it did survive. Parts of his cars may have been shot down by the Luftwaffe - and even common hardware wasn’t common. The Donald Healey Motor Company built cars in Quonset huts that had been an old aircraft components factory, and recycling war surplus was a necessity. His business model seemed unlikely to succeed in Britain in the aftermath of a war that had consumed so much of the country’s human and material resources.īritain’s post-war economy was in dire condition. The most commonly reported side effects by those clinical trial participants who received the vaccine were pain, redness and swelling at the injection site, fatigue, headache, muscle or joint pain, chills, nausea/vomiting, swollen lymph nodes under the arm, and fever. What are the most commonly reported side effects by those who received Spikevax (COVID-19 Vaccine mRNA)? The Spikevax Prescribing Information includes a warning about these risks. Information is not yet available about potential long-term health outcomes. However, some individuals required intensive care support. Available data from short-term follow-up suggest that most individuals have had resolution of symptoms. In addition, the FDA conducted a rigorous evaluation of the post-authorization safety surveillance data pertaining to myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of tissue surrounding the heart) following vaccination with the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine and has determined that the data demonstrate increased risks particularly within seven days following the second dose, with the observed risk highest in males 18 through 24 years of age. In an additional analysis, Spikevax was 98% effective in preventing severe COVID-19. In the clinical trial, the vaccine was 93% effective in preventing COVID-19 disease, with 55 cases of COVID-19 occurring in the vaccine group and 744 COVID-19 cases in the placebo group. How safe and effective is Spikevax (COVID-19 Vaccine mRNA)? More than half of the clinical trial recipients were followed for safety outcomes for at least four months after the second dose, including approximately 7,500 participants originally assigned to receive the vaccine in the blinded phase of the clinical trial who completed safety follow-up for at least 6 months after the second dose. The updated safety analyses included 15,184 Spikevax recipients and 15,162 placebo recipients 18 years of age and older. The vaccine was 93% effective, with 55 cases of COVID-19 occurring in the vaccine group and 744 COVID-19 cases in the placebo group. The updated analysis to determine effectiveness for individuals 18 years of age and older included 14,287 Spikevax recipients and 14,164 placebo recipients who did not have evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection prior to receiving the first dose. The approval of Spikevax is based on FDA’s evaluation and analyses of follow-up data from the ongoing clinical trial that supported the EUA and information from post emergency use authorization experience to further inform safety and effectiveness. The safety of Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine was assessed in 15,185 vaccine recipients and 15,166 placebo recipients who were followed for a median of more than two months after receiving the second dose. The vaccine was 94.1% effective in preventing COVID-19 disease among these clinical trial participants with 11 COVID-19 cases in the vaccine group and 185 in the placebo group. The EUA for the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine for individuals 18 years of age and older was based on safety and effectiveness data from a randomized, placebo-controlled, blinded ongoing clinical trial in 14,134 individuals who received the vaccine and 14,073 who received a placebo and who did not have evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection prior to the first dose of vaccine. It is administered as a primary series of two-doses, one month apart. Español How did FDA arrive at the decision to approve Spikevax (COVID-19 Vaccine mRNA)? What is different now when compared to the December 2020 authorization of Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine?įDA conducted a thorough evaluation of the data and information submitted in the Biologics License Application (BLA) for Spikevax before making a determination that the vaccine is safe and effective in preventing COVID-19 in individuals 18 years of age and older. With his attitude and a flair for driving, he and Grave Digger rode to success when professional Monster Jam established a professional truck circuit. Dennis Anderson retired from driving in 2017. In a 2012 interview with the Telegram & Gazette when he was still driving Grave Digger, Dennis Anderson recalled the Grave Digger name came about when he had responded to some "choice words" from a competitor at an impromptu truck race in 1982. "I've been doing pretty good for a rookie," Weston said of his season so far. The top overall point winner from the four competitions wins the event. The audience gets to do the judging for the two-wheel skills, donut and free-style. The latter is "75 seconds to do whatever to wow everybody," Weston said. Within each event there are four competitions: speed two-wheel skills donut style (where drivers spin the monster trucks in circles to create a donut-like impression on the dirt) and free-style. There will also be two pit parties where fans can see the monster trucks up close, meet their favorite drivers and crews, and take pictures from 10:30 a.m. There will be four separate competitive events when Monster Jam is in Worcester - at 7 p.m. in competitive events in which they vie for points with the top point earner at the end of the tour going on the Monster Jam World Championships, which will be held May 21-22 in Orlando, Florida. Grave Digger was created by Anderson's father, Dennis Anderson, 40 years ago before there was even a Monster Jam competition circuit. Weston's brothers, Adam and Ryan, and sister, Krysten, have followed in dad's tracks and trucks. The 25-year-old guard only appeared in one game, but he impressed with stingy defense in his Christmas Day debut, helping the Warriors beat the Suns while missing two members of their starting five. Fine-Point Blade – the one that comes with your machine.Cricut Machine – Iron-on vinyl can be cut with any Cricut machine including the Maker series, Explore series, and Cricut Joy.I realize this might not be crystal clear right now, but you’ll understand once we do a sample project! Supplies Needed for Cricut Iron-On ProjectsĪlthough there is a huge variety of projects you can make with iron-on vinyl, each one will require the same basic materials and supplies: You then will cut into the back of the iron-on vinyl and leave the liner layer 100% in tact. To cut out any design from heat transfer vinyl, you will place the shiny side DOWN onto your cut mat (yep, opposite of what you would normally do!) so that the dull side is facing up. This liner is what allows you to transfer and position your designs just right. The glossy side is the front of your HTV, but it’s covered in a clear/glossy plastic sheet usually called the carrier sheet or liner. It is the side coated with the heat-activated adhesive, which eventually goes down onto your base. The dull side of the iron-on vinyl (HTV) is indeed the back of your design. Our instincts tell us that the glossy side is the top and the dull side is the bottom…which is technically accurate, but not precisely as you think. You will quickly notice that one side is super shiny/glossy and the other side is rather dull. Take a look at the heat transfer vinyl below (or better yet, pull out a roll of your own and take a look). Because although it looks, feels, and (mostly) cuts just like standard vinyl, there is one really important difference you need to fully understand. Understanding the Dull & Glossy Sides of Iron-On Vinyl (HTV)īefore I dive into specifics for cutting and applying iron-on, I want to briefly chat about the “anatomy” of iron-on vinyl (HTV). While iron-on products are getting better and better, the only way to get truly washable, permanent designs without cracking or peeling is with Infusible Ink. Over time and after many washes, you may notice your iron-on designs start to crack or peel. Iron-on vinyl is designed to endure machine washing. As such, it’s important to remember that you generally get one shot at applying your iron-on designs (but don’t worry, it’s actually easier than you might think!) Is Iron-On Washable?Īgain…generally speaking…yes. Although you can remove it by reactivating (and therefor loosening) the adhesive with heat, any design will most likely leave adhesive residue behind on your project. You can also put iron-on onto non-fabric surfaces such as wood, canvas, corkboard, cardstock and poster board (although the application methods might differ slightly). The primary use for iron-on vinyl is fabric and that includes all varieties such as cotton, polyester, blends, mesh, neoprene, silk, leather, felt, and wool. Specifically, iron-on vinyl will adhere better, withstand machine washing, and be more permanent than its sticky counterpart. Although standard vinyl might stick to fabric temporarily, the best way to add custom designs to t-shirts, onesies, pillows, gift bags, etc is to do so via heat application. Why Use Iron-On Vinyl Instead of Adhesive Vinyl?Īlthough standard adhesive vinyl and iron-on vinyl may look identical on finished products, the primary reason you’d choose the iron-on version is if you’re working with fabric. These days, there are tons of different types of iron-on vinyl, including:Īlthough each product will require different time and temperature settings for optimum adhesion (more on this below), the process for cutting and applying them all is the same. Different manufacturers (e.g., Cricut, Sisser, etc) simply refer to this product by different names and while each brand’s product may slightly vary, any tutorials, tips, and tricks you see for one will apply to the other. What’s the Difference Between Iron-On Vinyl and Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)?Ībsolutely nothing! Iron-On Vinyl and Heat Transfer Vinyl (also referred to as HTV) are exactly the same product. The vinyl essentially has a heat-activated coating on the back that allows it to permanently transfer to another material. Iron-On Vinyl is exactly what it sounds like…a stretchy, vinyl-like material that you can cut into designs with a Cricut machine and is then adhered to a base (e.g., t-shirt, onesie, pillow) via heat. I can’t wait to demystify this process for you so you can start adding amazing iron-on designs to aaaalll the things! This guide will teach you everything you need to know about cutting and applying Cricut Iron-On Vinyl. And yet…although iron-on vinyl is an easy material to work with, it does require a few important modifications in order for your projects to turn out just right. In recent weeks, I’ve been working with iron-on vinyl a ton! I personally love making heat-fused projects because of the permanent, professional results I can easily get right at home. Just like his predecessors, Ultraman Max is from Nebula M78 and is supported by DASH (Defense Action Squad Heroes), a branch of the UDF (United Defense Federation). This series does not have any direct continuity to any of the other Ultraman Series (except episode 24: " The Untargeted Town" which seems to be a sequel to the Ultraseven series episode 8: " The Marked Town"). Much like Ultraman: Towards the Future, Max has a strong environmental message: most monster and alien attacks have something to do with the environment.Īlthough certain monsters from the previous Ultraman Series appear here in this series, the characters do not actually recognize them. Two actors from that show appear as themselves. One episode (#29) revolves around the filming of the 1964 program Ultra Q, the first entry in the Ultraman Series. Many actors (and characters) from previous shows make cameos, most notably professor Yukari Yoshinaga and chief Kenzo Tomioka, who are played by the actors Hiroko Sakurai ( Akiko Fuji) and Susumu Kurobe ( Shin Hayata) from the original Ultraman. |
